Orange Sweet Rolls

Growing up my mom would buy Pillsbury Orange Cinnamon rolls. We all loved them, and it was always a special treat.  I've been craving those Orange Cinnamon rolls, but no stores around here have them. So I decided to make my own, and try to copy cat that recipe. These do not taste the same as Pillsbury but hey they are delicious in their own way...:-) I truly hope you enjoy these treats :-) Little taste of home and summer.

Cinnamon Rolls

2 C Warm Water
1/2 Cup Sugar
4 Tsp Yeast
2 Eggs
1 Tsp Salt
1/3 C Canola Oil
6-7 Cups of Flour

Put your warm water into a bowl, and add your yeast. Dissolve it. Let it sit for 5 minutes.  Then add your sugar and salt. Mix it. Add the cooking oil, 2 eggs and 2 cups of flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in 3 more cups of flour. Begin kneading the dough. Adding the final cup of flour. If its still sticky keep adding flour a lil at a time. Don't over mix. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes. While its resting, then you can prepare the filling.

Filling:

1 Orange for juice and zesting
2 Tablespoons of squeezed Orange Juice
Zest of 1/2 of an orange
4 T of Softened Butter
1 C Sugar
1 T Cinnamon

In a bowl mix your cinnamon and sugar. Then roll out your Cinnamon roll dough to a rectangle. Spread your butter, then sprinkle your sugar/cinnamon mixture. Then zest the half of your orange over the dough so you have zest sprinkled everywhere. Then take the juice and pour it all over your dough. Roll it up to a tube like roll. Slice and put in a 9x13 buttered dish. Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 45 minutes. Bake for about half hour till they are not doughy anymore at 350 degrees. Take it out and let it cool.
While it is cooling them we mix up the topping:

1 8 oz of softened cream cheese
1 C. Powdered Sugar
1/4 C milk
1 Tsp Vanilla
a lil orange zest
2 Tsp orange juice from your orange

Mix it all up till its smooth. Taste and add more sugar if you want.. Pour on top of cooled cinnamon rolls.

Eat and Enjoy!! .
