Steak Kabobs and Potato Salad

Good Morning Everyone :-) I had meant to post this last night, but we had grill issues. We were using a Charcoal we never use. Well in the middle of cooking these Steak Kabobs the charcoal went out. So we spent a good while getting it going again. We didn't eat till 9. So now I am finally getting around to sharing these with you. We have this marinade that is soy sauce based. But you can really use any marinade you have, if you do not like the salt.

(Steak kabobs before grilling)

Marinade
1/2 C Soy Sauce
1/4 C BBQ Sauce
2 Tablespoons of Cherry Coke(or regular or skip it)
Sprinkle of Nutmeg
Sprinkle of Ginger
Sprinkle of Garlic Powder or minced Garlic
Put all these ingredients in a bowl and whisk.  Add your chopped meat and marinade for 2 hours.

Steak Kabobs

Sticks
2 Orange Peppers( or red, and I only had one so I ran out)
2 Green Peppers
2 Onions
Steak Tips
Whole garlic
Soak your sticks in water for about 2 hours or so. Then Chop all your veggies into chunks. Then start putting them on sticks. I did Onion, Green pepper, orange pepper, meat then onion. I repeated till I used all the meat and veggies. Then you can Grill. Grill it to what you like your meat to be and enjoy.

I also made Potato Salad to go with this meal. We do not like a heavy mayo potato salad. So I came up with this one.

6 Chopped potatoes ( you can peel if you want)
2 Smaller spoon full of Mayo
2 Chopped Celery
1/4 or more of Sweet Pickles chopped
Sprinkle to taste of Celery Salt
Sprinkle to Taste of Celery Seed
4 Slices of Cooked and crumbled bacon

Boil potatoes, drain and cool the potatoes off. Then in a bowl add your mayo, celery, pickles, celery salt, celery seed. Whisk it. Mix in with your potatoes and make sure its all mixed in. Take your bacon and crumble it and mix it in with the potatoes. Put it in the fridge and let it chill for awhile.

  4. Your marinade sounds delicious. I always use Maggi liquid seasoning instead of a soy sauce but the rest sounds like it would go great with the Maggi. I have tried to make veggie and meat kabobs but the veggies seem to burn before the meat is done... my hubby likes his meat well done or won't eat it. Thanks for sharing on Foodie fRiends Friday and hope to see you again this week with your great recipes.
