As most of you know yesterday was my birthday :-) I had a great day and I made this yummy birthday cake for myself :-) I was wanting a Ooey Gooey Chocolate Cake and that's what I got. I had asked my friend Becca at ItsYummilicious if she had a Salted Caramel Sauce and she sent me over to Hugs & Cookies. I found out that she had one, and I was so thrilled. I have gained a new love for Salted Caramel. I wanted to take a boxed Cake mix and make it awesome. So I bought a Decadence Triple chocolate cake box mix. I baked the cake like usual. Took it out of the oven. While it was cooling down a bit I went and made homemade Salted Caramel sauce. Click on that link and it will take you right to Hugs & Cookies page with the salted caramel. The Caramel takes a bit to do it, so just hang tight with it. Just DON'T burn it. LOL When the caramel sauce was done I went and poked holes in the chocolate cake. I used the end of a wooden spoon. Just poke holes everywhere. Then I poured the salted caramel sauce all over the chocolate cake.
Its as easy as that :-) You will want to try this. I also took the course sea salt and sprinkled it lightly over the cake. It made the best ooey gooey cake....and is soooo amazing.
