French Onion Soup

Good Evening Everyone :-)
Tonight for dinner I made French Onion Soup :-) It was a hit of course ;-) I hope you like this recipe. I use this recipe and love it. I love cookbooks and the Taste of Home Cookbooks are amazing.

French Onion Soup
Taken from the Taste of Home Cookbook
From Lise Thomson, of Alberta

6 Cups of thinly sliced onions(I use Vadila onions)
1 TB of Sugar
1/2 tsp pepper
1/3 C oil
6 Cups of Beef Broth
8 Slices o French bread(but we used Persian Bread and liked it better)
1/2 C Mozzarella, Swiss, Parmesan blend

In a dutch oven, or a large pan, cook onions, sugar and pepper in oil over medium low heat for 20 minutes, or until onions are caramelized. Stir Frequently. Add broth, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 30 minutes.

Ladle soup into oven proof bowls. Top each with a slice of bread, sprinkle with cheese. Broil 4-6 minutes. Serve immediately.
