Almond Joy Brownies from Hun Whats for Dinner

Cindy has so gladly offered to do a blog post for me while I'm recovering. Shes become a close friend and a great help for me. So glad to count her as a friend and fellow blogger. Shes bringing you a recipe that I must make when I'm better. Almond Joy Brownies...I love the candy bar so I know I'll love these.

Hi everyone, I’m Cindy, from Hun… What’s for Dinner?. I am so excited to be sharing a wonderful recipe with you today, while Lysska is recovering. I first ‘met’ Lysska, on Facebook, many years ago. Recently we’ve gotten closer, by working together on recipe round ups. When Lysska shared that she was going for another surgery, I gladly offered to do a guest post for her. I know first hand how difficult it is to keep a blog going, when you are trying to recover.

I know that Lysska LOVES chocolate, so I thought these Almond Joy Brownies would be a great recipe to share. These brownies are chewy and are topped with a coconut macaroon mixture and almonds. Almond Joy bars are one of my favourite chocolate bars, so I absolutely LOVE these brownies. I hope you do too!

Almond Joy* Brownies
Hun... What's for Dinner?
adapted from Flour Me with Love

1 box of family size Chocolate Fudge brownie mix
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (14 oz.) bag coconut
1/4 C milk
1 C chocolate chips, melted
1/4 C almonds (or nuts), crushed

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line (regular size, not mini) cupcake pan with paper liners.  (Don't skip the paper liners, I did the first time and they all stuck!  This recipe makes 24 brownie bites, however I'm only showing 12).

Make brownies according to package directions and pour batter only half way up the liners. Bake in preheated oven for 12 minutes.

While they are baking, mix the coconut, sweetened condensed milk and milk together. Remove brownies from oven and spoon on some sweetened coconut. Place back in oven and continue to bake an additional  14-16 minutes.

Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before removing the paper liners. Drizzle on the chocolate then sprinkle on the almonds
